Newbie to fox bodies...
TRUE LITTLE OLD LADY STORY!
I found a 1 owner 88 GT 5spd bought AS HER "DREAM CAR" by lady now 80 years old. She had a stroke and cant drive any more. I learned about it from son in law who went to the house for a service call and lady's husband mentioned he had an old mustang he was thinking about selling. It is 100% original with 104k miles. Was inspected in 2018 and parked. Needs battery to start.
What is it worth? See pics!

It has all the original paperwork.
Paint is original. No wrecks and no mods.

That is a car that I'd be willing to pay $5k+ for.

Unmolested, normal wear and tear. Could be made nice very easily.

I think it can be bought for that (5k).

85 MPH Speedo. Man I miss my Fox.

Search KBB with the VIN to get a cash offer price

I'd give around 5k for it. Looks clean.

Are they asking for an offer or have a price that you are looking to counter?

My Trade in Value is $292.00 on KBB so scratch that idea. They are morons, you cant put a price on a Prom Queen.

Owner did some research on Haggerty and said 5k firm. I think I am going to do it and add a fox body to my garage to keep my 67 390GT convertible company! Should be a fun project for me and my sons.

5k seems fair, especially considering it is a T-Top car. This is assuming it will run after sitting for 2 years.

This is how Hero's are made. Dads who pass on the knowledge to their sons and daughters. YES get them turning wrenches

So long as all the fluids are flushed [first], it should crank right up.

It'll probably spit out a list of codes shortly thereafter

I'd do $5K on that and feel good about it provided no wrecks or major rust/rot.

First thing i'd do is change out those T-tops seals as it looks like the seats got water on them at some point. But that would be a fun restoration. I'd put it back to 100% stock resto and slap some fresh white paint on that bad boy.

Thanks for the advice.
Seats are like new as the t-tops have never leaked. Paint is glossy with a few chips that hopefully can be repaired. I would really like to keep the original paint. Coolant is disappearing and I am afraid it may be a head gasket.

I was referring to whatever this spotching is all over the seats and seat-belts. Almost looks like mold growing.

yeah, when they leak, it's bad. But considering most of these cars these days are garage kept and seldom driven in bad weather, it can potentially be a non-issue.

I love the sunroof on my '88, but I wish they were T-tops all the time. If they were, they would be kept out most of the time anyway

T-Tops in a unibody car is almost a guarantee you'll have leaks but it's so original it probably hasn't been beat on so replace the seals and enjoy the ride. I personally would still need to look at the floor pans in that thing before I shelled out the five k

I'd have to add that subframe connectors are definitely a must for a T-top car.

Looking at the other pictures there appears to be similar residue elsewhere (shifter bezel, etc.). My bet would be that's just a byproduct of being stored in a non-climate controlled, likely humid garage.

.

It was a mild case of mildew. Cleaned off easily. Happens sometimes in garage storage that's not climate controlled.
