I am pulling my motor this weekend to do some block and head work. Can anyone give me any links or info on some important tips or how to's. I am a newbie when it comes to this. I have a haynes manual but any other info in addition would be great. We all know nothing is ever done by the book.

Are you pulling the engine w/ the tranny just for ease sake? You should think about it. Once you disconnect and pull the driveshaft, support the rear of the tranny w/ a stand, remove the crossmember, unbolt the motor mounts and yank the whole shebang.

Its alot easier than unbolting the tranny or bellhousing from under the car. Once its out, you can unbolt the tranny and set it asside. Good time to do a clutch if you need one. :D

Makes it easier going back in too.

Very good advice. That is how I did it. :nice:

Don't forget the drain the tranny if you do pull them as a unit...otherwise you'll have one helluva mess

If you have a Hastings, or a Books A Million nearby, ck them out, they have HPBooks about how to rebuild and modify SBF's...they have pretty much all the info you'll need to do a rebuild...torq specs, tips and tricks, special tools, etc., etc.
