It is connected to the bottom of the intake but directly from the fuel vapor line no connection to a purge valve or canisterIts connected to the bottom of the upper intake manifold on one of the nipples? Thats where its supposed to be.

Found the solenoid how would I go about testing it to see if it's functioning it looks pretty beat might just get a new one along with the canisterYeah, you'll want the activated charcoal canister reinstalled with controlling solenoid, vs just sucking raw gasoline vapors into the engine without control
