I just bought a 89 LX 302 bored 30 over with plenty of goodies. However I think I am having a tranny problem. When I shift from 1st to 2nd at higher rpms like 4000-6000 it doesnt want to engage all the way until the rpms come down . I have a world class T5 Racing Tranny, BBK carbon fiber clutch, BBK short shifter/Clutch relay, aluminum drive shaft, 4.11 lightend gears/28 spline axle. It will engage once the RPMs come down some but until then it wants to grind. Can anyone help me out here? I am new to this. This is my first mustang.

Clutch relay? I wasn't aware the clutch required electronics to engage/disengage...?

Unless you've already gotten rid of it, there's a chance the stock clutch cable adjuster is being crappy and begging to be destroyed/tossed. Keep the stock clutch cable - DO NOT buy an adjustible cable - and buy a multi-hook clutch quadrant and a firewall adjuster (UPR has a pretty good deal if you buy both together, got 'em both on mine and love 'em).

More than likely, though, if it's dependent upon what RPM's you're running at, I'd have to agree that it's probably your synchro gears that're crapping out.

shiftforks on a t5 won't bend, they can break but won't bend.

IF he's picking up RIGHT off the floor when he lets the clutch out, it's a likely clutch adj, if that's not the case, I agree, likely rebuild.

2 Gear sychros on a fox going bad. No, never, j/k welcome to another common problem. It took me about 6 months for them to go. But I bought an '86 and no telling when the tranny had been rebuilt. Especially since the car came with two. I guess the guy knew it wouldnt last long. But I got two transmission.
