So my stock 9 inch 3.00 geared open center was replaced with 4.11 limited slip 28 spline.

Now I'm making a bit more power and I don't want to break anymore.

What size axles can I put in this rear? 35 splines will cost me the same as 28 spline, so why not build it to last forever.

I've got the small bearing rear, so can I put these axles in it? What are the stock lengths? (70 Coupe, stock 9 inch)

Thanks

If your 4.11 rear is a 28 spline, then you're stuck with 28 spline axles. Not sure if you realize that the diff dictates the spline count.
If you are planning to ditch the axles and differential, I'd say go up to 31 in Strange or Moser axles and a truetrac or dteroit locker diff. I believe the 31s are like 40% stronger than 28s and have no fitment issues. No call for anymore than that unless you have 500HP AND slicks to put it to the ground. Any street tire will spin before aftermarket forged 31s are in jeopardy.

Sorry about that. Just realized I didn't put that in the original post. The 28 spline center is sold and I'm upgrading again. Going with a Moser spool and their bearings/axle package. List is 590 and a good friend is a dealer so I'm getting it significantly cheaper than that. It'll include the bearings, axles, spool and the retaining plate/studs. I just wasn't sure if the 31-35 spline axles can fit in the small bearing tubes, since it'll be the same price.

I also have about 550 RWHP on spray and run a full 10.5 slick. My street tires are still 275 Hoosier QuickTimes.
