9- Inch in a Fox body

I've searched and can't find any information. I have a 9-inch given to me, I'm a crew chief for a dirt track team (chevy's), they use 9-inch floaters. Looking to put a 9-inch in a 89 GT, does anyone know the deminsions on the axle tubes or width?, this is also a school project and I will have a plenty of third mebers and gear ratios to use any time I need to change gears.

I am almost positive that the track width on the rear of a stock mustang is 59.5" (that's wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface). The guy that can tell you is from North Racecars http://www.northracecars.com/catalog/brakes/brakes.htm
