I was looking at the L MAFs (piecing together odds and ends of a SC kit) and a lot of them come with adapter brackets to run a straight cone filter. Without thae bracket, will the MAF by itself just bolt up to the stock conical filter housing on my 00 GT?

Guys, your not understanding what I'm trying to ask. You know how the mustangs already have a cone filter in an "air box" that bolts to the maf? Well, will that air box bolt up to the 90 mm LMAF.

Dont use the stock air box with a blower setup....end of problems

Just buy a steeda CAI for use with your (KB/FRPP) blower setup, they even make HP over the kenne bell CAI and would blow the stock stuff out of the water.

if your using a centri type blower the stock air box cannot be used.

I'm obviously not going to use the stock airbox w/ a s/c. For one, it wouldnt fit. Second, thats just plain dumb. For right now im going to use it with my modified airbox (i used a cutting wheel on a dremel to cut some big sections out of it but left about half of it as a heat shield). So with that being said, will the 90mm LMAF attach to the airbox?

Well your going to have to egt the Lmaf anyways so go for it. I dont think anyone has ever tried it so your on your own.

However if im not mistaken I belive the flange is the same size on both the stocker and the Lmaf....as in the aluminum filter flange will bolt onto both. But to be honest with you I just dont remmeber how the stock setup works anymore LOL.

I tell you what, ill look at my stock air box tomorrow along with my SCT BA 2400 (modified LMAF) and let you know if it looks like it will boltup.

why do you need a LMAF with bolt ons???

just keep the LMAF for when you get a blower. the stock MAF will be fine for now

To answer your question, NO.....the Lightning MAF won't just bolt up. I believe the mounting holes are spaced too far apart. Seriously, if you can't afford to spring for an adapter flange and a K&N to slip over the end, you probably can't afford run a blower. Not to mention you won’t be able to run the Lightning Mass Air meter without the proper transfer function programmed into your computer.

I dont NEED it with boltons, i would just want to put it on now. And about the tune...you do realize the SCT tuner that i have has the option to select the LMAF in addition to stock and the SCT 2400.

Haha, this guy is funny. Man you do not need that big of a MAF for what your running right now. Bottom line. It will not help you out performance wise, just keep it around for when you get S/C.

Good thing you are not trying to make gains from it. Why do you even want to use it? What is wrong with your current MAF? That's what makes no sense to me.

Nothing is wrong with my current one. I had just ran into a good deal on one before and was just wondering if i could have put it on now without modifying anything else. I don't know why people want to jump down my neck about it when i just ask a simple question...
