I'm planning to rebuild - .030 over - so new pistons/rings. I have either as an option - long block. Anyone know of differences I should take into consideration?

Up until 1992, ford used forged pistons. Other than that, they are nearly identical.

95's also used a slightly different intake, i'd imagine.

Well since I'll be getting new pistons anyway, I should just go with the one that has fewer miles? I guess as long as the intake wasn't different b/c of a difference in heads. E7s right?

to clarify some more, i believe 92's made before july have forged pistons. so some 92's might have hyperutectic's as well. i have an april car w/forged.

Oh yeah, and the 94/95 front accessories are diff as well 93 and down will not work on a sn95 5.0 they set further from the engine while the foxes sit closer due to the fan design(sn95 has Electric) or vise versa. hope this help any.
