I say with your mods, you'll loose. My friend has a 97 automatic with bbk headers, drag springs, 2300 stall converter, and the best the car has run is 14.4. Granted he weighs in over 300lbs himself, but the car isn't all that fast, but it is an auto.

wow lt1 camaros must be damn fast where you guys come from. 15.00 isnt gonna wreak too much havok on mustangs last I checked. (15.00 is the average for 6 speed lt1's around here) kind of a joke actually. Go whoop his ass! the 50 extra horsepower isnt going to do squat when the car is the size of a small yacht.

if lt1s are running 15s then i guess the 5.0s are running 16s and 17s?? lt1s are mid 14- high 13 second cars.

And if any of you care, the autos ran the same times as the manuals in most cases. except for 93 because they still had the 4l60 (700r4) which wasnt electronic. They were also speed density. in 94 they switched to the 4l60e and MAF. But it really all depends on the car because some 93s are faster than the 94-97s.

I agree...lt1's z's are low 14's (auto), and high 13's 6speed...

Stock coupe 6speed or auto lt1 z28 vs. stock 5.0 5spd...lt1 will win...

Get some gears and some drag radials and you'll be right there with him...

my friend has a 95 firebird formula vert. auto with an lt1 and as my car is right now, I would kill him. Sadly I have only raced him when i was completely stock (he won by about 1 foot, literally). But it is an auto vert, so I would have to say that unless you are an awesome driver, you will lose by a bit.

The Transam and TransAm Ws6 have MAYBE a 10 horsepower difference...not making it that much different...

The WS6 has a tad better suspension, "ram air", and little less restrictive exhaust...it doesn't really give it any edge...

But still the LS1 right off the showroom isn't to bad

Yeah 96 GT's run low 15's with a few in the high 14's...(5spd)...don't get the 96-98 4.6 confused with the 99+ 4.6...they run high 13's (5spd)...

I smack around SS, WS6, and Vettes. Did get waxed by a Z-06 once. It was close though, very close.
