there is a rip about 4-5 inches long in my convertible top and i was just wondering what course of action i should take to repair this. Is there any products that can patch up a tear, or will i have to replace the whole top?

Thanks in advance

I had a tree limb fall on mine the day after i got it. What i did is cut a peice of vinyl and used 3m adhevsive spray. I put it on the inside. Figering if i put it on the outside it would just roll up. Once everything was dry i sprayed scotch gaurd on the outside. Its held up for 5 months now. It was supposed to be a temp fix but just havent really had the cash to have a new top installed. Over time on the outside the top peeled away from the vinyl some and it looks linda ugly, but still does not leak.

Others may have better ideas i just came across this temp fix on a webiste, and figured id give it a try. I've been kinda scared to call around and see what local shops want to install a new top.

Didn't Billy Mays have some stuff to fix cuts in leather couches and stuff? It might work for ya

Maybe get soem kinda of strong needle and thread or staples, to keep the two pieces together and then use some kind of gack to seal it. I'm sure they make a convertible top repair kit.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

solution #1 is the best one. I have done that as life support on a failing top. its not pretty but keeps the rain out.
