hello. i found a 91 isuzu impulse 5 speed with dohc 1.6 motor in it. it has 144,000 on it and the guy wants 600 for it. it looks decent. i have not put a battery in it yet to crank it. are these reliable to drive every day. it is basically the same thing as the geo storm. this is not the awd or turbo system. anybody know anything about these

The Prism is a Toyota. The Storm is an Isuzu.

It's just another Japanese econobox. The only thing I'd be worried about is parts availability. Being an Isuzu, there may not be a lot of aftermarket stuff available for it, unless the engine is made by someone else for them. If you need anything dealer-specific, good luck.

Edit note: why the hell does this board filter the three-letter abbreviation for Japanese?

Any Isuzu product you buy you should be aware of them having weak wheel studs and frequently when you go to pull a wheel the studs jus strip off regardless of whether or not they were cross threaded or not. This can be a serious pain in the ass. Engine wise Isuzu's engines run well and for a long time.
