Ok I have a 91 with a 5.0. I just did a top end kit on it minus the cam. New 185cc Patriot heads, used Trick Flow Street heat with 1/2" spacer, 75mm throttle body/EGR spacer, 4" Anderson tube, 90mm MAF set for 24lb injectors, 24lb injectors, and new 155lph fuel pump, 1.6 comp cam rocker arms. Ok so I have a vac gauge on the upper intake and I have the PVC valve hooked up, but all other ports are capped. With it warmed up and idling at 1000rpms, it is holding steady at 10 inch of vac. Everything I took a can of starter fluid and sprayed all around the intake, throttle body and intake to see if I could find a leak, but nothing. Made sure all the header bolts are torqued to spec. Haven't got the timing dialed in just yet, but it is good enough to stay running. It has new plugs and I checked all of them. All the plug wires are on the right plugs. I have all of the emission stuff removed and am running H pipes and shorty bbk headers. The back firing continues but not as bad as it was before I have checked everything I can think of minus the timing. I could use some suggestion on new things to check or replace.
