Brakes 93 5.0 lx Front brake/5lug question

My fox has a five lug swap and the rotors were brand new when I bought the car a year ago and the fronts still look brand new. I’m hoping someone may be able to help me identify what the prev owner used for the swap. If pictures are needed I will post them upon request. The brake booster and mc look original and I’m wondering if it is wore out or if a different one is needed. Thanks

The pedal I would say is kind of soft but idk really what it’s supposed to feel like. I’ve tried power braking but it doesn’t hold. I’ll post pix of the rotor and what you asked for.

Waiting for pics.

More than likely it's an 84-86 Mustang SVO rotor which is commonly used for 5-lug swaps. That will be easy to ID based on a photo.

What would be harder to ID is if the previous owner changed the 60mm calipers out for 73mm calipers. That change would give you a softer pedal because the larger piston doesn't really work with drum brakes and the stock MC. Of course, your soft pedal could be sign of needing to bleed the brakes or air in the calipers or a mechanical issue with the calipers.

Disregard my first post.

Those are 94-98 Mustang GT/V6 brakes. 66mm front piston, 38mm rear piston. Should be using a 94-95 GT 1 1/16" bore MC.

Can you post a pic now of your MC/booster?

Can you also zoom out a bit on the rear brakes and show the caliper?

Sorry it took so long fellas. Been too hot to do much of anything. Plus my hood was off the hinges And needed another set of hands to help move it onto the roof. But here’s my booster/mc

Booster is the same. Looks like a stock booster.

Is there a 3rd port on the MC on the underside? Or only two lines into the MC.

The MC you want is a 94-95 GT/V6 MC and a 1993 cobra booster.

That's the proper MC/booster setup for your front/rear disk setup.

You can probably get by with the stock booster, but if your MC is a stock 3-port MC, then you need to change that. Would be why your pedal is soft. It's mismatched

If your MC looks like this with two brake lines on the side and one on the bottom, it's stock and you need to swap it

I kind of confused myself by adding the second mc/booster pictures from the junkyard.

Did you mean the first pictures(my current setup) is the proper setup? Or the junkyard one is the proper? Lol sorry

Simple question. 2 or 3 lines out of your MC? Is there a line on the bottom?

Then the MC was never changed. So your brakes aren't going to work to full potential.

94-95 GT 1 1/16 MC
Appropriate 3-2 port conversion from max motorsports
Prop valve plug from LMR
Adjustable prop valve
93 Cobra booster

That will finish up the conversion properly.

Damn. Keep finding little things the P.O. did or didn’t do that really grinds my gears. Also mad at myself for not doing more research before buying it. But in Iowa I couldn’t find ones with absolutely no rust with good paint and other desirable mods. Can I get away without the booster? cause that’s a hefty amount to drop on a new one. I could probably find used but I’m not sure I want to take the risk of it being faulty since it won’t be local

Get it from rock auto man that’s what I did. Got both my 93 MC and Booster from them, then tried to paint my booster. As you can see the booster size is a huge difference and took some work to get it in there but it’s doable.

You can save the booster for last and try to keep your stock booster, but if you find the pedal effort too hard, you should really change it.

If I don’t change the booster right away what should I do in the meantime. I’m pretty sure my fronts don’t grab. I will bleed the brakes again. So can I install the MC 3-2 port conversion Prop plug prop valve and have a trustworthy braking system? Ps thanks for all the help I do ask a lot questions and appreciate the help rather than getting bashed
