93 5.0 modded stalls when come to a quick stop and smells like gas when i shut if off

car has:

gt40 upper and lower
bbk fuel regulator
70mm throttle body
70mm mas (i think)
cat delete and dual borlas
f303 cam
bbk shorty headers
underdrive pulleys
bbk intake (with the fender wall mount)
short shifter
camber plates
bbk lowering springs
4 wheel disc conversion

and a few other things i dont think matter for what im asking.

i think it may be the fact that the cam is so big when i hit the brakes hard it stalls. all upper gears seem fine b/c the car is moving fairly fast still but it happens most when going from 3rd to 2nd or 2nd to 1st like if i missed a turn and hit the brakes and downshifted it will sometimes stall. cam? the car smells like its burning rich b/c when i shut it down i smell some gas but not a leak its from the exhaust. all these mods were done b4 i bought the car so. there are no lights on the dash and the car runs great besides that which doesn't happen everytime but often enough. also on initial startup the battery level goes up and down with the idle until its fully warmed up then it stays around 14-15volts which is good.

Its not the Cam making it stall.

You need to run the diagnostic codes from the ECM.

The smell of gas could likely be the aftermarket FP regulator. I eventually removed mine and went back to a standard regulator because the adjustables gave so many problems. Pull the vacuum line off the regulator and look for gas in the line. If it looks wet inside, then there's your problem. The smell of gas could also be the vapor canister along with many other things, but that's a good place to start looking. If you have such a big cam you are running out of vacuum, then that's another problem.
