Now here's another twist.....if he lied about that part of the engine, how do we know what the rest of it's like? For instance, the Cobra engine has 1.7 roller rockers. Without pulling the valve covers, you're not going to be able to tell if this one does or not. Do you trust this guy enough to take his word for it that it? The cam is not big loss, because the Cobra cams sucked to begin with, but the rest of it is pretty useful. I’d hate to pay top dollar for a Cobra engine (even a home built one) to find out that it’s only half there.

And FYI….19lb/hr injectors would not flow enough fuel for a supercharged Cobra engine. So either he’s A) trying to snow you or B) and idiot and got snowed himself and how he’s trying to recoup his losses by passing it off to another sucker.

If I were you, I’d treat it like a 5.0L with bolt-ons. If you’re set on buying it, then pay him the price of a regular ’93 5.0L HO short block, then tack on the additional cost of the Cobra goods that you can see (GT-40 Heads, Cobra Intake, 65mm Throttle body, and 70mm Mass Air Meter). Forget about the cost of the “B”cam and 1.7 roller rockers (if they even exist) because even if he isn’t lying, the fact that he knows nothing of the engine shows that you can’t take his word for it that they’re even there.
