Is there a FAQ anywhere that states the differences between a 93 Mustang GT and a 93 mustang Cobra?? I'm going to go look at one tonight and it has black cloth interior, I thought they only came with grey leather.

They had different bumpers, skirts, wing, and tail lights. The GT had 5.0 badges and not a snake. Under the hood the Cobra was equipped with a different intake and heads, MAF, throttle body, cam, and computer. The Cobra was available in black, red and teal, if I'm not mistaken. I'm pretty sure the Cobra was available with black interior. The rims were different also. The T5 transmission was upgraded to a T5Z for the Cobra, rated at 330ft lbs torque.

I used to have one. Buy it, Love it, Take good care of it as if it were a child of yours. I miss mine to this day. I wish i was more mature when i bought it

Anyway ford WAY underates their HP. They had some good off the shelf parts added. Thier Cobra Intake which is similar to the GT-40 in performance, GT-40 cyclinder heads, Hyperutectic pistons, MAF, throttle body, cam, 24lb injectors, and computer. I think they also had suspension work to. Somthin around 50-60 more rwhp than the GT 5.0? maybe

I raced my buddies 2001 Gt when it was stock and my cobra was stock to. I left him in the dust. Im pretty sure a stock 93 would also beat the newest GT's to.

if it's clean you should get it. they don't depreciate. i've watched the prices either stay the same or appreciate over the past 10 years.

Im pretty sure that a 93 gt will LOOSE to a newer 99-04 gt! A 93 gt with a 5-spd will run mid 14's at best. A 99-04 GT 5-spd will run LOW 14's easily. The Fox will be much more torquey...but just not as fast. Also performance wise the cobra intake and gt-40 tubular are nearly identical in terms of performance. Another obvious difference is the 4 lug 4 wheel disks.

yes the cobra did come with black cloth interior trim code J and probally the most rare interior color. the grey cloth trim code 6 and opal grey leather trim code C where also offered, the grey combo is more common.

93 Cobra vs. a 99-04 GT is a drivers race.

05+ will beat a 93 Cobra.

They had gt40 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, Cobra intake, 24 lb injectors/different maf. Different water pump pulley, and a weaker camshaft. Usually put out around 230rwhp if I recall. They are underrated.

well I went to look at it and I came home with it. Black 93 Cobra with 94,000 miles. auburn posi rear with 4.10's, #42lbs inj and C&L matching MAF meter, tremec TKO tranny and Pro 5.0 shifter. Black cloh interior which, according to what research has shown me, is 1 of only 488 Cobra's with black cloth. Pioneer CD player and changer and some for big speaker box with pioneer 12's in them. Has some dings but it'll go in for paint after Xmas. he was asking $7500 and to my suprise he said $5800 takes it home, he bought a new 08 GT and his old lady was bitching about 2 cars in the garage LOL.

WTF is up with the 42#ers??? It probably runs like crap. Swap some 24s or even 19s in there and it will probably run much better

Check the vin code. It's hard to believe that you got a good running '93 cobra for that price. What is the 8th alphanumeric figure in the vin code?

it's a real Cobra...when I entered he VIn on the Progressive insurance websight it came back as a 1993 Ford Mustang Cobra. a 1facp car. The only thing that sucks is I don't have any of the SVT certifications or window sticker.
