well, my coupe has been down for over a year but i finally got the motivation to get it running again. as of last thursday it was back on the road.
i took my bullitts off of it and put them on my 98 GT and sold the wheels off my GT so i was stuck putting some of the triangular looking 5-lug 15" v-6 wheels on my car with some skinny tires (225s i think)
anyways other than my pillar gages my car looks stock from the outside.
i have been seeing this SS around town that sounded pretty mean. a friend of mine ran him in his Z06 (403rwhp) and the SS beat him so i was hoping to catch him out. so last friday i go cruising around in the coupe and i run into the guy.
hes telling me he has all the bolt-ons and a cam (6spd car). he wouldnt tell me his exact dyno numbers but he said he was making over 400rwhp. we get to talking a little more and he wants to race me. well we cruise out to a low traffic area and we try to go from about a 35 ( i was in 2nd) and a destroy the tires and i was all over the road, so i catch back up to him and we get up to about 40 and i went ahead and put it in 3rd in hope that i get any traction at all. so we hit it again, i spin pretty bad again and he jumps out about 2 cars on me.
at this point im thinking, there is absolutely no way im going to catch him. well, i was wrong, just as i thought that my car started pulling like crazy and i started reeling him in and before i knew it i pulled out about a car on him QUICK and then i got out of it because i was about topped out (C4 transmission)
i was extremely happy with my car. i couldnt believe i reeled him in from 2 cars back and pulled a car on him especially on those small tires.
he was real cool about everything and he was impressed at how quickly i caught him and pulled him. he said i was the only one to beat him so far.
my car is a heads, cam intake car with an S-trim (10 psi) should be making around 500 rwhp
