93 gt long tubes vs shorties??

...

Lastly, i'd recommend definitely going with a full flange header, because pretty much all the separate flange styles are going to warp and make it a PITA to bolt back on after being unbolted (i've had this issue with shorties too however).

For the most part you are correct. But I would like to clarify that this only applies to longtubes with the collector welded to the tubes.

I have Bassani LT's that do not share a common mounting flange, but the collector is slip on. I can install/remove each individual primary. This is the ONLY way that these large headers fit.

But with the majority of people opting for mac, BBK, and the like, with welded collectors, get a 1 piece flange.

Yeah yours are much nicer than 99% of the full lengths that the general Mustang public are using...i'd love to get some Kooks slip fit like that

The kooks are top notch...and friggin' expensive.

I did pay a lot for the bassani's but IMO they are worth every penny. There is no way in hell these would have fit if they were a 1 piece design. As it is, they have to be installed in numerical sequence...(1, 2, 3, 4...etc) and they have to come out the opposite...(4, 3, 2, 1...etc.) Plus the collector is not the easiest to remove and put on, but there is no other way any header would have fit around that huge ass C-4 Bell housing.

The new exhuast is finnally on. It took about 7 hours to remove my old and install the new. I had some rusty bolts, had to extend my o2 sensors, weld in bungs, remove the steering shaft, lift the motor, and uninstall some of the nitrous stuff, and make a trip to jegs and autozone in that time. It is deffinitly a 2 man job, and i was glad to have a lift. this was prolly the most labor intensive inastall i have ever done (normally i just pay someone).

I am very happy with the sound and feel of the car. I am hoping to get a tune in the next couple of weeks.. so that should really help too.

I will head national trails tonight and see if i cant go faster than 14.7.

Thabnks for all of the info, i will keep you guys posted.

Damn it feels good to do your own work and have it come out right.

EDit: i would recomend the swap to anyone. I would also reccomend on spending the extra cash on the best set up for your car, also dont go sheep on the gaskets and take your time.
