Hey guys, tore down my 93 GT motor and you can still see the cross hatches in the bores! After 100,000 miles! Machinest says there's only .001 of wear and the cylinders are straight so I'm having him re-hone the block and clean up the pistons. Anybody have some info on the rings? I know the 93 had hyper pistons, were they metric like the forged? I've heard that they are standard rings. Anyone know where I can get some? Thanks guys.

I have hyper pistons I just took out of my car if you want them I could sell them cheap. You have a 306 though so you need different ones...summit racing sells TRW (factory ones) and Keith Black sells hyper pistons...

I had the cross hatches on my cylinders after 164k

No no no no. This is the motor that originally came out of my GT, I built a Lincoln 5.0 motor that's in the car now (the 306 in my sig), now this one will be going into my truck. The block is a standard bore and I already have the pistons I just need new rings for them and don't know if they're metric or not or where I can get some. I tried Advance but none of their distributors could get them, however they did have a Speed Pro part # so I might try that.

Jason I think they were 5/64" can you mic one of your old ones? Ford has used a bunch of different sizes over the years..

I guess after reading my original post I wasn't very clear on which motor I was working on.

And I also just put the caliper on my old rings and it looks like they are metric, so I found some Speed Pro rings (1.5/1.5/4.0mm) on Summit for $61 and have those coming now. Thanks for the help guys.
