hey guys, newb here, i have a 93 5.0 and im trying to recharge my a/c with r12...before i blow something up im trying to find where the low side is so i find the right fitting...my mustang is stock...if someone could help me out that would be great! maybe even a pic??? thanks in advance!!

You really need to pull a vacuum first before recharging. If your system is low, it suggests a leak in which case putting more expensive R12 in will just cost you money because it will leak out again.

This is assuming you haven't done so, which you didn't clarify really.

Low port would either be the port on the compressor at the front, or on the accumulator bottle at the rear of the car on the firewall. Depends on the year which you have, but most have the port on the compressor.

The high side is the line behind the compressor right in front of the dist.

If he is low he HAS a leak. No ifs, ands, or buts. To recharge he doesn't need to pull a vacuum because sometimes the system leaks leak under pressure, other times under vacuum. R12 leaks something like 8x less than r134 because the molecules are so much bigger. With R12 you might have a one year leak, and this sort of work should really be left to professionals. I got my EPA 609 licence back in '03.
