94-5 mass air not the same as 89-93

i just went to the yard and bought a mass air meter from a 94 mustang and when i got home it is the same size as the stock one on my 89 gt so im kinda pissed that i wasted my time and money on this meter and the adapter so if anybody i looking for a meter to do a swap let me know. the yard may have given me the wrong meter so if someone has a pic of a stock 94-95 mass air meter post a pic or send one to mustangracr@hotmail.com. thanks

I just bought a used Pro M for a 94-95 and I need the adaptor. It wont fit my Mac cold air kit on my 89. The meter you bought will work...

was it a "pick-your-part" junkyard, or did they go and get the part for you.

if they got the part for you, and you asked for a 94+, they probably just got you a 93- mass air meter because they know it will work on a 94+. the 94+ should be a larger diameter though, so i think you got screwed.

89-93 MAF is slip connectors on both ends for the air duct. It has a 55 MM opening.

94-95 Mustang GT MAF - $40-$100. It is 70 MM instead of the stock 55 MM on regular stangs built prior to 94. It uses a slip on duct on the side that goes to the throttle body and a 4 bolt flange on the other. You need a $25-$35 flange adapter from Pro-M to fit the stock slip on air ducting that goes to the air box. Wiring plugs right in with no changes.

Pro-M has revised their website lately, but here's what I found.

http://performancepartsmall.com/detail.asp?id=223 metal adapter.

I got a metal one from Powered by Ford for $35 and tax. That was about a year ago.

Measure the MAF opening. At 25 mm per inch, 55 mm is about 2 3/16" - a little.

A 70 mm MAF would be a little less than 3", somewhere around 2 3/4"
