I see the 130's do have just the 2 holes and the 95's have 4 together, that will make it easier to make sure I get the right one. I sold a set of Ford motorsport valve covers last night so I'll be getting an Alt. this weekend. I have seen that for the swap I will need a fuse in-line from the Alt., but I have seen posts saying I need a 125 to 135 amp fuse and other posts saying to use a 150amp fuse. What size is correct and best to use?
I noticed on a Ford Taurus they have a 175 amp fuse on them as OE, so while at the JY I will see if I can get a few of them, they only charge $0.15 each and they have plenty of Taurus to get them off if someone else hasn't beat me to them. I'm wondering about the 4 gauge wire, is the OE wire on a Taurus 4 gauge? If not the cable from the solenoid to starter on a 5.0 ( F-150/ Crown Vic/ Grand Marquis) should be long enough so I might try to get one of those. Napa has the 125amp fuses for $6.99, haven't found a 135 amp yet.
Get the NAPA 125 Amp fuse and be done with it.
It is much better to use a smaller fuse on a wire than over fuse it. There is less chance of going damage to the wire and the circuit the fuse protects.

I will get one from Napa, just going to get a few extras in case of emergency, so if the 125 does blow I will have something I can put in for a quick fix. I've heard they blow when trying to jump a vehicle and the ends touch, with my luck I'd try helping someone and blow my fuse and run out of battery before getting home.
Never seen a 125 blow. Only issues I've seen were poor connections causing shorts. If you pop a 125 you have something pulling some serious juice.
For the same reason they undersized the foglight wiring on 87-93 Mustang GT's. It was cheap, or they got a bargain price on them, or they are mismarked.
I put the 3G alternator in and when I turn on the defroster my AC kicks in, I hooked the stator wire up to the unused wire harness like ...7. Splice the new stator wire with a scotch lock to the small wire on the big electrical plug..........and I have no idea if that is correct or if it should be hooked up to the middle wire on the D-Plug that is used. On the Mustang it came off of the stator wire just went from the D-Plug to the Stator and there were only 2 wires going out from it, my OE wiring has 3 wires going back into the wiring harness.
That was from another post about doing a 3G install, I would never use a scotchlock, solder is much better.
I was told that the AC runs when in MIX or Defrost, so I guess everything is good, I just never knew it would come on like that.
