I'm having all sorts of problems finishing my motor off!
the egr part of the adapter is hitting my tall valvecovers!
any of you guys run into this and how'd you deal with it?
Yeah, mine hit too. But it wasn't real bad, so I just used a grinder to clearance the EGR. If it's too much to fix that way, you'll need a spacer. And maybe a new hood.

Yea man you will run into all sorts of crap with tall VC's. Its best to use Fox Body VC's. The ones that come on the car from the factory will clear just about everything. THe aftermarket ones are just like ours. So if you run into clerance problems....Bottom line is pick up some stock Fox valve covers.

yeah, I already bought the VC's and I need them to clear my pro magnum rockers... so I'm stuck with it. hey canary! can you post some pics of how you did yours? I'm thinking of using a hacksaw to take out my aggression on this stupid ****.

It'd be hard to see with pictures, I just took a die grinder to the bottom of the flange (with the EGR attached, did the aluminum and iron at the same time) and removed about a millimeter of it. But I have Fox VC's -- if your covers are significantly taller than that, you may need a spacer to get enough clearance.

I have some Trickflow covers that wouldnt clear so I ground about an inch of the cottom of the egr and just used the top bolt....only took about5 mins cuz the EGR is made out of a soft metal.

yeah, I mock assembled the motor with the stock valvecovers just to see how the motor will look, I have almost an inch of clearance. but these ford racing ones are 4.25 tall! I guess they work better for carburated cars. :notnice: I did some measuring, I need a spacer that is at least one inch! it's a shame.... those ford racing covers fit the personality of the car so well.. :nonono:

yeah I epoxy'd the egr hole and ported it smooth, and hacked off the end sticking out of the 94-95 adapter, what my problem is is the valvecovers are too tall, and I need ones tall enough to fit my pro magnum rockers. so that's my current problem.

My new one is that the gas pedal only moves an inch with my BBK 70mm tb. kinda wierd, so now i gotta do something to reshape the cable cam to take up slack and curve the throttle opening action better.

****ing rod and custom!!
