94 GT auto transmission starts in 2nd hesitates to shift in passing gear

I am getting no codes for this problem. Is there any other checks I can do to determine if its mechanical or electrical?

try checking the mlps on trans, try posting in the 94/95 tech forum on how to do this iam not really sure.
