Hi there....
About a year ago I picked up a 94 v6 conv for the little woman, (she insisted)
Happened to luck out and it has a jasper rebuilt engine and trans,
The car ran perfectly and passed the emission test with flying colors just last month.
Anyway,
Today the year long trouble free streak ended, took it out in the morning to get the monkey to school, all was well, tried to get out in the afternoon to run some errands.... rough idle, no power, strong fuel smell from the exhaust,
no codes, and the check engine is not on
to me it felt like a dead hole, so I went out and changed the plugs and wires,
the old plugs looked fine, white-gray in color, very large gap, over .100, by the looks of the electrode, been there for a long while.
no change, searched the web, found nothing relevant.

ideas?, leads? happened to you?...................thanks in advance!

Clean MAF

Could be Mass Air Flow related. Start by cleaning the MAF sensor. Use cleaner designed for this. The sensor is delicate and easily damaged.

If this does not resolve, try disconnecting the MAF sensor while at idleing in the driveway. This may throw a DTC but it is OK because it is for testing. It the rich condition imporoves, this will prove it is a MAF related issue.

This works because if the MAF fails (or is disconnected), the PCM replaces the missing sensor data with default table data.
