95 5.0 fi. &. 84 dodge carb. act like runnin out of gas

i ran across a great buy on a 95 gt 5spd. but the guy says it will drive for a while then it acts like its runnin out of gas . he said u can pull over and re start it . and it will run fine for awhile. funny thing is i have a 84 dodge 4cyl. auto. with a carb. and mech. fuel pump that does the same thing i can drive about a mile or 2 then it acts like its out of gas. pull over and start it back it will go fine for a little while. iv'e tried pumpin the gas pedal . lettin all the way of the gas when it acts up but it dosn't help any . it seems to mainly do it on hills . but my driveway is very steep and sometimes i have 2 sit ther a long time 2 get on the road . and it runs fine.. i tried the fuel filter and removing the gas cap & checked the choke . nothing by the way i'm selling the pos. dodge if i can get it going ..any ideas on ethier car ????

i was thinkin vapor lock on the dodge i tried takin off the gas cap (didn't help) any other ideas ??? on the mustang i'm not sure if a fuel inj. car would have problems with vapor lock or not.. or what the guy has tried???
