95 Bright Blue Mustang Gt

Hello all, new here to the forum, but have owned a mustang for a little over a year.
Ive done a few mods to my car, and plan on building up to a mildly modded daily.

Got this car in may of 2014 as a graduation gift from my grandparents it was a nearly fully stock mustang or so i thought.

First thing i had issues with was the cooling system. it ran very hot above 50 mph. the fan wiring was burnt up and someone rigged in a toggle switch off the alternator. so i removed that and soldered in a new Harness from the CCRM. Removed the aux trans cooler and installed both a new radiator and condenser. Which fixed the overheating issue for the most part.

The speedometer was off so i counted the drive shaft vs tire rotation and found out someone had put in a set of 4.56 Gears. That would explain the aux trans cooler. so i put in a set of FRPP 3.73 gears and that fixed the other part of the cooling issue i had. dropped the engine rpm about 450 RPM.

one night after work i spend a full 6 hours cut and buffing the original paint. turned out pretty good except for the spots where paints coming off.

Fast forward half a year and in Tech College i find a low mileage 5.0 for 200 bucks and decide to rebuild it for my car.

Found out the used 5.0 had very very minimal wear but I went ahead and bored it .020 over and put in dished pistons, Steeda 19 cam. Gt40P heads with a 3 way valve grind, and a fresh 1998 Atlantic blue paint job.

installed my MSD 6AL I've had lying around for a few months. PLEASE excuse some of the wiring. ALL of the rigged wires are from the PO, which I will fix when I pull out the engine. IE redwire coiled up because it was hot wired for the v6 power seat in a V8..... or the zero gauge amp wire for a 400 watt amp *ROLLS EYES*

I RTV'd the seams of the box to keep out any water that might get on or near it.
I just need to build a small heat shield for it now.

The coil was the OEM original from Sept of 1994. From a dead stop the car no longer bogs, then come alive. Starts up with a bump of the key and idles much smoother.

Well I started last Semester of Tech today, and got a head start on the swap.
pulled the exhaust, transmission, and most of the engine in a little over 4 hours. i was surprise to find the ease of removal of every nut and bolt despite being a Kansas car.
the under side looks clean with minimal rust, and the rust present is surface rust.
Over Christmas i went to Alabama to visit family, and while i was there i stopped by Prestige Mustang in Monroe, Georgia and picked up a t-5 conversion out of a low mileage 95 GT (80k). A used drivers power seat, and some interior trim.
While the engine and trans are out I'm going to undercoat the underside of the car, and replace the mangled radiator support that was damaged from the PO sliding into a ditch and being pulled out with a chain.

Got the 5.0 out this morning and spent the rest of the day cleaning the engine bay, and 3m coating the firewall and rails.

Spent the last few days finishing the undercoating and cutting out the bent up lower radiator support.

Hey everyone thanks for the comments and likes. I would have been on sooner but my laptop hard drive quite so I had to order parts and decided to buy a new laptop with windows 10. we will see if the moates programing will work on windows 10 lol. I currently on my tablet until my laptop is delivered. Anyway here is some more progress on the build. I attached the lower half of the support with 3M panel bond and then welded the seams and filled with glaze puddy. benefits of working in auto body in High School. I then undercoated the lower support and assembled it. bumper fits much nicer.

Hey Thanks Dustin I should be ordering my engine and exhaust parts the end of this week so ill be in contact. P.S. the core support piece I used is from LMR and for the most part fit very well.

Got all of my parts/upgrades today and started assembling the engine. I used felpro 1250 intake gaskets and plugged the egr off at the heads.

I got the engine accessories bolted on and dropped it in the car before leaving class Friday. Also reused my factory dipstick and bent it accordingly. Also if a MOD would move this to the right section I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Spent the day putting in the transmission, cutting the tunnel, installing the exhaust, and fitting the intake, with the oil fill being in the rear of the valve cover. I also moved the vacuum booster supply line from the neck of the intake to under the intake to hide the line.

Well guys i got it together and broke in. it runs awesome, I absolutely love the 5spd in this thing, so much more fun to drive. but has some valve train noise. push rods are too short. I got some longer ones and will install and update tomorrow. Here's a video of the car running and idling.
