95 COBRA Running Rich

My 95 cobra is running rich as heck. When it is running the gas fumes will choke you. I got on it the other day and happened to look in my mirror and saw the dark smoke. Where do I need to start to correct this?

What's the set-up?

I would start with cleaning the mass air meter element. Followed by new plugs and fuel filter, new wires if needed.

It is all stock except for headers.

do you get a check engine light?

even if not, you should pull for codes and see if any are present. my best bet is your O2's are done.
cleaning your MAF and doing a tune up wouldn't hurt at all.
