Hey I am new to the sn 95 thing....... I had 3 foxes before and I really wnated an sn 95 convertible. So I would appreciate it if I can ask some questions.

First, how much does a 95 convertible weight

Second, are they capable of running in the 14's with a full exhaust and 4.10's?????

Third are they less maintance then an 87-93 fox body???

I used to own a 90 convertible and have a 95 convertible now - I can help you out with some of these questions.

I'm not exactly sure on the weight - someone will have to chime in on that one.

They are capable of running in the 14s stock if you have a stick and can drive it. The autotragics are a bit slower - I went 15.3 w/ a 2.4 60' with a K&N and pullies on my AODE.

The convertible top seals MUCH better on the SN bodystyle and overall there are much fewer squeaks and rattles. Get some subframes and you will be even more amazed.

Maintenance wise it is about the same stuff, you've still got the same 5.0 engine and not a *whole* lot was changed. The steering racks on the SN's don't have the problems that the Foxes have, the TFI module got relocated so it doesn't cause problems nearly as much. You won't have to mess with the TPS.

You will get disc brakes and 5lugs all the way around on a SN.

The computer is not as forgiving on mods as the fox bodies are. You'll most likely need a chip or tuner when you go beyond bolt ons for your mods. (cam etc) This isn't that big of a deal though, don't let it put you off.

I really like my 95 - prefer it over the 90 actually. When you're looking for one, look good at the top and check for leaks - that will be around $1k to replace if it needs replacing so keep that in mind.

Thank you for the reply. Tommorow I am checking out a 95 vert with 110 thousand miles. The mods are flowmaster exhaust open h pipe long tube headers, short throw, and 4.10's. He is asking 4500.00 and says nothing is wrong with the car. He said it is clean inside and out and run and drives smoothly and strong. Does this price seem a little low???

That seems about right - I paid $5k (dealership) for my stock convertible two years ago with 115k miles.

Definately try to offer a little lower than he is asking.

alright just making sure that it wasnt to low of a price.

I noticed you have 4.10 gears and was wondering if that really wakes the car up being it is a convertible and all. Does it make up for some of the extra weight and give it more seat of the pants pull????? Also how is you car still holding up with over 115k on the clock?

4.10s with a 5 speed t5 is gonna have an extremely short first gear, I have 3.73's in mine and first gear ends quick.
My 5 speed convertible weighs 3420lb with 25lb weight removed, exhaust dumped at rear axle
I recently ran 14.6 @ 95mph with 3.73s, x pipe, mufflers, and pulleys and 2.07 60 foot

When I got the 4.10s I think I was expecting like a WHOA type difference. Don't get me wrong, it was a difference but I was a bit overhyped about them. Definately a GREAT mod in my book though.

I'm at 130k now, car seems to be holding up fine. It was very well maintained before I got it and I do preventative maintenance stuff on it about every weekend.

Here's the thread of my latest run...
