I just bought a 95 gt with 135000 miles. The guy before me changed the distributer, injectors, plugs and wires. He said it was a tune up but now I realize he was trying to fix this problem.
I have cleaned the tb, maf, iac and replaced the ignition control module and fuel pump. But nothing has world so far.

When I was bleeding the air from the gas line it would pump for so long and then stop, so I shut the key off and then back on and sometimes it would have no pressure. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I am stumped. Regretting buying the car now :(
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Brad

Without any diagnostics you are blind. For fuel issues you need some feedback such as pressure with both the engine off and running. The problem could be elsewhere as well. You should pull the stored fault codes from the PCM to see if there are any that will help pinpoint the problem.

I am going to try to get the codes pulled. I also ordered a new fuel pump as when I checked for pressure yesterday it was foamy at the schrader valve. I read that these pumps die when heated up and cause fuel foaming, then when cooled they work again.
I will post after I have more info.
Thanks

Alright I got the new pump today but ran the koeo/koer tests and came up with 111, 116, and 121
This was after it got stuck at advance auto for 3 hours before it would restart. It seems like resetting the computer by disconnecting battery and letting engine cool lets it restart?
I decided to wait on the pump install and I replaced the tsp

The grommet on the filler neck of the fuel tank looks new so I wonder if the pump has been replaced. The guy I bought it from said no but he is not honest. Said he never had a problem with it stalling (bs because it stalled once on the test drive) Oh well

I did the idle adjust tonight after the tsp install and it restarted every time but I just don't have faith that it is fixed.
Also ever since I cleaned the IAC my idle jumps up to 1500 when I push the clutch in and then back down when it goes in gear, this happened even after the idle reset. (Although I only pulled it into the garage)
Maybe I will take it for a ride tomorrow but I am a little nervous after getting stuck today.:(
Now engine idle on start is about 900ish, thinking maybe I set it to high.
Thanks guys and I will post back tomorrow
Mileage is 136000

does it die when hot and then start up pretty much every time after sitting for a while?

if so, that fits the symptoms of a bad PIP (in the dizzy). these things have a tendency to go bad in our cars. i know you said the last guy changed it, but it new one may also be bad. just ask "The_Mustang" about his experiences with that.

I can tell you from experience that your problem is going to turn out to be such a small obvious thing you'll kick yourself in the end. Don't give up. Just test and learn as much as you can about the car and it'll come to you.

No doubt. If it was bought reman'd from an autoparts store it's almost a 50% chance you got an old/cleaned up sensor reinstalled. These PIP sensors only fail when they reach temp. But the stupid places like Cardone who reman' them test the sensor while it's cool. So it tests fine, they clean it with a solvent to make it look new and reinstall it. Look at your replaced dizzy, if it says "Ford" on it, it's probably reman'd and not worth a crap.

Also remember that the PIP pretty much controls the whole shebang! Injector pulse, fuel pump and (spark?). If it goes the car is useless until it's cool again. Could take 5 min could take hours!

Has the coil been replaced?

That is classic 'coil going bad' symptoms...
The coil fires fine when it is 'cooler', but when hot, it dies... cools a bit, and runs again.
I would throw a known good coil on there and check that first.

(These symptoms can also fit a bad TFI as well, but if the symptoms were going on before and after a new TFI, then you've ruled that out.)

Alright I replaced the tps, ect and act. Starts every time and no stalling. I have put on 100 miles and had no problems.
Now I am on the sluggishness that has been there from the day I bought it. It just feels like something is holding it back.
I pulled all of the plugs and one of the ford racing wires that the previous owner had put a fire wrap around was badly burnt and cracked, looked like it sat on the header and just fried . I could not see the connector inside through the crack but it has to burnt almost through to it.
Could this be the underpowered source?
It will still get up and go but like I said it just feels held back.

It looks like the distributer has never been changed or is remanned (the things you learn after buying a car) he put an msd cap and rotor on but the dizzy says ford.

I am also getting terrible gas mileage, 10-15 miles a gallon. Been running premium but going to switch to regular today.

Learning more and more every day, feels good!

Thanks for all the help guys.
