im having trouble with my 95 mustang its a v6 and wont go into over drive i drive it past 50mph and the rpms sky rocket to like 3 or 4 and it sounds horriable my brother in law is a ford tech and says the over drive is out how do you fix that? and is it easy to fix? my brother in law dont mess with Transmissions so please help me out guys

Sounds like you have a slipping tranny (or TC) as well as a shot overdrive band, so it seems that a tranny rebuild at a reputable tranny shop is in order.
Bullitt95 is dead on, overdrive is not a gear but a band, and on a GT will eventually wear out. There is no way to fix this short of rebuilding the transmission, as the band is deep inside the tranny.
Thanks guys you are a huge help and thats what everyone has been saying im going to buy a new tranny and have it droped in which is what will be the cheapest the good news is everything works except overdrive so i just turn overdrive off when i drive so i can go past 50 now my girl took me to church in my Stang and she was doing 70 with no problems when the overdrive was off :] but i will fix it lol thanks a lot though guys
