has anyone here tried to mount 94 95 outer or inner tie rod ends on a fox?I just finished the 5 lug upgrade using the sn 95 spindals .but there is not much left of the threads on the inners but the outer s on a 95 are longer.so you can see what im after. :

Nothing wrong with using stock outer tie rods, you do have to turn them out quite a bit, but not so much that it's anything to be concerned about. Nothing wrong with screwing sn95 outer's on either, do whatever makes the beer taste best :D

Could you use '94/'95 outer tie rod ends on a '90 with stock spindles & stock everything else?

I may need to replace my outer ends soon, but I will be converting to 5-lug eventually, and if the later tie rod ends are preferred then it would be good to already have them...

I would venture to say no. ofcourse I've never tried it, but I'm not so sure that there is that much spare thread on the tie rods themselves to turn sn95 pieces that far down. There might be, you can always try it.
However like I stated before, there's not going to be any safety or functioning difference between the short fox or long sn95 tie rod ends, they will both do the same job in the same way.

Back when I redid my front end with all new parts for my 5 lug conversion, I asked the same thing and I think Matt90GT said the threads were different on the Fox and SN95 tie rods. So unless you change both inner and outer, or change the rack to SN95, you might have other thread issues.
