i did a search so i had to post this ques - when i start engine in the AM or when ever the engine is cold i hear a a tap knock not a rod knock maybe a cam or valve prob after the engine heats up the noise goes away , and only under power ( when driving ) maybe comming from the driversside of motor , maybe a timing chain tensioner? theres 118k on it , i changed the oil to see if the noise would stop but it didnt ,oil pressure is good , is the valve train supposed to be noisy, im gonna use a stethascope to see if i can find where its comming from but any oppinions ? thx

If it only does it on start up in the morning, it could very possibly be starving for oil because the filter drained out. Change to a Motorcraft FL-820S filter and try again. This is a very common problem. The Motorcraft filter has a good anti-drainback valve in it.
