My tranny is getting a little crunchy after a hard 112000 miles. The car is my commuter car but I like to have fun in it and would occasionally take to it to the 1/4 mile if I didn't think I would loose the tranny in the process. Any thoughts on what I should replace the tranny with that will live in my real world driving?
Thanks,
Jazzy

I've never seen any high RPM gear change problems with the TKO 600, and I shift at 8000 RPM with a McLeod Soft-Lok. High RPM shift issues are more likely due to the fact that many clutches will simply not release in the 7000 RPM range. I don't think this has anything to do with the transmission.

Thank you to all for your input on this. Looks like the TKO-600 or the TR-3650 will be the choices. Aside, I am putting a T-5 in my 65 Falcon behind the 289 that is there now. Later when the motor is done being built a 351/427 stroker is going in. At that time I will need more transmission to handle the increased torque. Will I then be able to then swap the T-5 for the T-45 that is now coming out of the Cobra?
Thanks for any insight.

While the swap might be possible, you will probably grenade that T-45 very quickly... it doesnt have a very good torque rating.
