96 Gt and gears???

Hey Guys,

Neighbor just got a 96 GT with a stick. His speedo seems to be way off. Went on the road and with my car and his and we figured out using my correct speed, his RPM and a gear calculator that he have a 3.73.
I m not to familiar with 96 but i think he can correct the speedo with speedo and tranny gears from Ford. Problem is when i look in the Ford Racing Catalog, the last gear that you can correct is a 3.27. What is the alternative with a 3.73???? You get the parts for the 3.27 and you let your speedo off a bit??

look at steeda or d&d performance. both of them have gears to correct the speedometer. I think that they are like 15 bucks shipped.

He'll want to use the white speedo gear...the speedo will still be off by APPROXIMATELY 5-6 MPH.

A speed calibrator is the most acurate way to correct the speedo. I've got one on the way...If he still wants a speedo gear PM me...I send you mine for cheap.
