There's a 96 GT Convertible for sale locally that I have my eye on. 97K miles and asking $4,200. The exterior is in good shape, though the paint is faded. I am concerned about the level of rust underneath the car in the area around the mufflers and fuel tank. From a cursory examination, would you all think it looks like more trouble than it's worth? It's a Connecticut car that looks like it's obviously been driven in the winter. I don't think it's rusted through, so I thought about sanding it down and undercoating it. I wanted to get an opinion before calling the owner and going any further with it.
Thanks.
