Hey all,

I’m beginning my car build today. Got a 347 from fordstrokers, big shout out to Woody and Nicole. I wouldn’t want to go through anybody else.

Car is a 96 v6 model that has been set up for a 302.

Car will have an Astro a5, which I have already picked up.

Engine is a dart block, trickflow 205 11r, Callie’s crank, scat h beams, wiseco pistons. Built to handle some good power.

I’ll be updating as often as I can.

Edit:: Cars almost done.

You are starting off with a what should be a bulletproof long-block.

any plans for a power adder later on?

I’ll be adding a nitrous kit along the road, my buddy fabs custom turbo piping so that’s also an option. With 10.8:1 compression I’m probably just gonna run it with a 150 shot for a bit.

Only worked for a couple hours today. Got all the harness and what not disconnected along with other miscellaneous crap and ac lines.

Engine will be coming out next Monday as I work during weekends.

Man, Im jealous of that engine. I also have a Woody 347 that I bought used, but it only has baby Trickflow 170's on it and a stock block. I'll be following your build, I like SN's.

Thanks man, I’m definitely loving the engine so far. I glad I do after all I’ve put into it as far as the block and all the supporting parts. I had matt moss port the lower intake as well. Pretty much no expense was spared on the build.

We’ll see what it puts down. The cam seems a little on the small side for what I’m going for, but the dyno will tell me everything I need to know.

Lol I run just about the same cam in my 302.
57x lift 224 236 @50 114lsa

Custom cam for my m112 5.0 blower build... Idles like a stock cam sounds good power everywhere.

Gonna seem small in a 347 methinks.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I was at least thinking the Duration would be a bit longer, maybe a hair bit more lift as well.

Oh well, I’m sure it will run and idle well. It will be good to have a cam that plays nice while I get the engine initially fired and broke in

Awesome progress. How are your mounts? Still good from the original swap?

The rubber mounts still held good, I have a tough time justifying not replacing them when I'm in the area though lol. I'm going with poly mounts everywhere this time around. I figure with a little more twist it would be beneficial to stiffen things up a bit.

Was one of the smoother pulls I've done. The only thing that gave me grief was one of the PS pump bolts. I had to grind one of those suckers off. Definitely going with ample amounts of anti seize this time around.

That and the Georgia heat can be a bitch.

RIP old exhaust. Anybody need an x pipe? Haha

Not reusing those equal length shorties are you? Ive never used them personally, but hear they can be a PITA to work around.

The equal lengths never bothered me. I’m putting in some that will be even more fun to work around....Long tubes.

Had to do some clearance for motor mounts. Also, front sway bar is hitting the front drain plug. Probably gonna cut and weld it.

Weird, I would have thought the block would be designed around atock type mounts. Kudos getting it in already.

Thank you. Not bad for just me working on it.

It’s fairly common on dart blocks to have to do a little massaging around the mounts. They’re pretty beefy.

I wanted my accessory brackets, coolant tubes and water neck to match the valve covers and upper intake. Hit them with some black wrinkle. You’ll notice I also lopped off the smog pump mounts. No need for that extra

Got the torque box reinforcements in today as well as the fuel pump. I think I set a record for quickest fuel pump install lol. Got pics of the torque box plates. I did uppers and lowers. Figured y’all know what a fuel pump looks like so I didn’t bother with pics of it.

All I’ve got to do is a wideband, then just waiting on intake and headers to finish the build.
