97 GT Starter removal

Hey guys I got the two bolts that hold the top and bottom of the starter in but it still won't slide free it looks like there is a bracket that ties in to the.motor mount anyone know how the hell to get this thing off?

(3) starter bolts. The top bolt is a bear. What works best for me is a 13mm flex socket on a long extension. Use a long extention instead of several short ones tied together.

Route the socket through the K-member. Guide the socket onto the top bolt by feel. Have a buddy turn the socket while holding onto the extension.

Exactly right. There are 3 starter bolts and the top one is the most tricky. As burns said, just slide a very long setup of extensions through the k-member to access the bolt. Laying behind the wheel, you can guide the extensions and socket to the bolt by feel. Then, move to the front of the wheel and loosen and remove the bolt.
