I HAVE HAD MY COBRA SINCE OCTOBER. NOW I WOLD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IT WILL TAKE TO GET MY CAR IN TO THE LOW 12'S WITH AN N/A SET UP.
I WAS THINKING OF:

1 LONGTUBE HEADERS; BBK
2 X-PIPE OR H-PIPE; BBK
3 BASSANI CAT BACK
4 3.73 GEARS
5 ????
WHAT ELSE WILL I NEED WITH AN N/A SET UP. THIS CAR WILL MOST LIKELY SEE ROAD COURSE.

I recently got 4.10's in my car. Really like them. Keeps the car in the powerband. First gear is really short. Third pulls just like 2nd you can even get a 3-4 chirp sometimes. Forth and Fifth are also a lot stronger. When i was shopping for gears everyone was telling me to get 4.30's or 4.56's to get into the 12's. I decided since it is my daily driver I didn't want to go that low.

you'll need more than 3.73's...try more like 4.30's...also a set of sticky tires like ET streets or BFG/Mickey Thompson drag radials...everything else seems to be good...

4.10's, every bolt-on known to man and drive the balls off of it. Then maybe you will see low 12's, maybe.

From personal experience with a friend and his 97...

4.56's, weight reduction, strong clutch, suspension (drag), headers, exhaust, pullies, CAI, Mass Air, slicks, programmer to bump timing and smooth the fuel curve.

HE also had the IMRC deletes, but I think you could do without. You will need 300+ rwhp.

He went 12.57@107.56 weighing in at 3450ish leaving at 6K....he weighs 250-275.

Drive it like you hate it.

Honestly, a stock weight car with just exhaust and gears won't get there.

With my mods (see sig.) I was running 11.4 in the 1000ft at 94mph. I am may be wrong but am guessing this to be a pretty low 13 1/4 mile time. And I was only pulling a 2.0-2.1 60ft. time, I havent raced in a while but have alot more seat time and feel I can get about a 11.2 now with a 1.9 60ft. in the 1000. So with the few mods I have, a 4.10 or 4.56 gear, headers, and chip I think you will be REALLY close to mid possibly low 12s. Also control arms should help you get the tires to hook. A good set of drag radials make a world of diffrence as you can launch at alot higher rpm without frying the tires.

Like we already said....you won't hit low 12's on just bolt ons...you will need some bolt off's too....lol.

Here....this will get you 12.80's @ 105-106ish with good driving.

4.30's
Long Tube Headers (BBK or Hooker) make sure they are ceramic.
Off road X or H-pipe
a good cat-back (MAC and Magnaflow are good ones)
Steeda Pullies
JLT CAI
Chip or a predator
better clutch than stock.
DR's (BFG or Nitto)

You don't need cam's yet.

if you want more

Cams
different heads (Navigators are good...) or ported heads 'B'(I went the cheaper way and ported mine, but in the long run the other heads are better)
99+ Intake
Mass Air
TB
Aluminum flywheel
tubular K
4.56's
control arms
different springs and shocks/struts
subframes

That will get you 11's. My car is hitting 335-340 rwhp, but I am having drivability issues. There is a guy in my town with a 04 Mach 1 with ported 04 heads, FR500 cams, ported intake, predator, gears, bassani exhaust, stock suspension, TB, mass air, pullies, and a KN CAI. He made almost 375 at the tires. He ran a 12.0@117 on BFG's...
