I just bought a 98 cobra and I am having a problem with it not wanting to start. i have to crank it for a while to get it started. It does always eventually start though. I am thinking it is a fuel pressure problem. any help is greatly appreciated. It has 48k miles

Go back to the basics.
Since you just bought it.

How old is the battery? Have it tested.

1. Change fuel filter.
2. Check fuel pressure Key on Engine off about 35 lbs.
3. Engine run Idle Fuel pressur should be about same.
4. Since it is a 98. change the plugs and wires. Make sure you do it correctly. anti sieze on the threads and silicon dielectric in the wire boots.
5. Check for any pending codes. Fix if necessary.
6. Disconnect battery to reset ECM
7. Go for a drive so that ECM relearns the engine parameters.
8. If that don't fix it then start looking deeper.

Good Luck!

If still original...change the spark plugs. They need to be done much sooner than the manual says. I've actually felt ass HP twice changing them at 20,000 miles on different 1998's, besides easier starting.

While stock Pretty much anything OEM equivalent as long as NOT Champion. IMO

With the power adder. IMO non platinum. Some like Denso, NGK others Autolite. If copper tip you will need to change more often.

I currently am running Bosch (easy guys I know many don't like 'em). I haven't had any issues with them wherein others have.
