98 cobra vs. 01-02 gt mustang

so i'm on my luch break and a grey gt pulls up alongside me and throws a hard rev. Son at the next light I signal for a turn around due to heavy traffic going are way and no traffix at all going to opposite way. So he also signals and we pull a you turn and align next to each for a few seconds before we hit and I imediatly put about three cars on him but kill it due to the next light turned red up ahead. So we roll down our windows and it happens to be two pretty young guys, they ask if I want to go at it again so I told them let hit the expressway becuase it's a long stretch of road without to many lights and if their is no traffic then will go. So we hit the expressway and no traffic but he does not come to a stop, instead when we trun on the expressway he just goes at about 40mph so when i pull up next to him he looks at me for a sec then signals and hits it and so do I and again this time I pulled about 31/4 car lengths on him and kill it at about 90mph as no need to be dick. So he honks and waves bye and I head back to work. Ho yeah, by the way, when we where stoped I asked what kind of mods as his car was a bit louder than mine and he replied full exuast. Don't know what kind of exuast but it sounded nice

hey guys just checkin out the site....I am curious, with my mods in my sig plus my upcoming bbk longtubes and x also steeda auminum upper & lower control arms.. how would i fair in a race vs a pre 03 cobra with minimal mods... thanx...

Depends on what minial means to you. 94-95 stock cobras average 14.7-14.5 in the 1/4 mile. 96-98 get 14.2-14.0 depending on driver ability. With redials and k&n a buddy of mine hit a 13.9 with his 97 cobra. 99 and 01 high to mid 13. Those are the times I usually see in stock form. In your sig you've pulled a 13.9 is pretty good to compete with most cobras. With long tubes, well you already have an off-road x-pipe and flows so with long tubes you will see a bigger in low end torque and maybe 10 extra horses since most of your exuast has been done. so 13.7-13.6 is what you see to gain. Maybe other people see bigger gains or smaller gains, who knows for sure. But a 96 cobra and on with minimal mods usually tends to see a 13.7 and lower. It all depends. Some cobra owners see that just with 4.10's and nitto's or bfg tires. Hope I was some help
