98 cobra vs 03 gt

I have a 03 gt with mods, off road x with flows, 4.10s, c&l upper intake, open k&n cone air filter, 85mm mass air c&l, and a pro 50 shifter. Could I beat a 98 cobra with just exhaust? Or am I wasting my time and going to get beat. or is it a drivers race. And what gear do they have stock? Thanks.

You'll get munched. They come with 3.27 gears stock. Race him anyways. What are tou scared of? Let us know the results.

@ 20 I pulled on him, up to 90 he let off and I was slowly pulling away. Hurt his feelings. I have an H pipe and filter.

old cobra's are that quick? Some youngin' in a 98 cobra always tries to mess with me but I always see it as a waste of boost

I've only raced one. It was a close race with my NPI GT
But they are supposed to run about 13.9 in the 1/4 aren't they?

With the solid axle and 305hp, it should be a 13.6-13.7 second car. I'm just guessing though.

A 98' Cobra is tricky to launch so in the 1/4 mile with an average driver in both it would be a pretty close race but really good drivers in both cars the Cobra will win. With your mods and DR's I would suspect that you would beat him.

I think the Cobra will win. Ive heard of them going as low as 13.4 stock. And I believe some came with 3.55's depending on the year. It might be a drivers race though

All 96-01 Cobras came with the 3.27 rear gear which did nothing for them. It is the ones with 4.10's and 4.30's you need to watch out for.

You should be able to take him if you can drive as those 3.27's will slow him down.

I raced one from a stop and from 20 mph when I had 4.10s and exhaust only and beat him by 2+ cars both times

i thought 99-04 GT's stock gearing was 3.27's. someone on here told me that!
