My fellow 'Stang enthusiasts, I need some help. I bought a beautiful 98' Mustang GT back in October 15'. Currently the speedometer does not work and I was told by the seller it is because of the new 4:10 gears that were put in. However, when I went to replace the plastic speedo gear with the proper 4:10 replacement (pink in color), the speedo sensor the gear is suppose to attach to was not the right one. The current one wired in looked like a newer sensor model without a physical gear attachment. So, I grabbed a 98' specific speedo part to attach the new 4:10 gear and there is no way it will work. Due to current transmission I'm guessing.
I was told I may need the newer sensor plus a new instrument cluster to fix the issue... Is that true? Does anyone know anything about this? Greatly appreciated
