Hey all,

So on my 1998 Mustang, my heater/AC only blows out of my defrost vent, all the time (Even when I don't have it on). It doesn't blow out of the dash vents at all. I have temperature control and the different intensity settings work fine when I have the AC on, but even when the AC is off, it will let air out of the defrost vents at the temperature that is selected.

Let me know if I need to clarify or give more information, it may be abit confusing, but I tried to explain as best I could!

How can I get my system back the way it should be?

There's a vaccum line that controls the vent selector.Thee line could be broken someplace or it could simply have disconnected itself.Open the hood and look in the very far right hand corner. To the right of the brake booster (large black round thing with brake resevoir on top) there is a vaccum splitter. It has multiple hoses connected to it.Theres a real skinny hose that comes from the splitter and runs along the firewall and goes in on the pass side.Check to make sure it is still plugged into the splitter. Then follow it,and about halfway across the firewall it has another fitting that the line tends to break off of.

The other end of that line connects another fitting inside the firewall then to your vent selector control.

Check the first two connections and fix if broken then post back and let me know if it sixed your problem.

Yeah, I looked and the line vacuum line was broken at one of the connection points, went to pep boys, bought some thicker vacuum line for $3. Problem solved :)

Thanks for your help
