98 V6 auto to 98 Cobra manual

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the stang scene. Before this I was a ricer but decided it was time to graduate to a man's car. I recently bought a 98 V6 with an auto tranny planning on just driving a stock car. Then I started seeing Cobras and wanted one. I don't have the cash to buy one straight up so I was wondering if its even possible to do the whole conversion (motor and manual trans.) Any help would be appreciated. As well as any price estimates you might be able to provide. Thanks guys

possible, but not easy. use the search tab and look for v8 conversion threads

It is possible but I wouldn't try it. My friend has a v6 mustang (94) that he turned into a v8.. it looks and sounds good but he has had serious problems.. the car is made for a certain size engine so the conversion is pretty ugly if you have any problems..You can do it..but its going to cost you a good bit and its probably not worth it.. your best bet is to just sell your car and buy a GT from 2 or 3 years earlier..thats what most people do..
