Does anyone have any clue if the fuel pump in the gas tank of the 3.8's is the same as the fuel pump in the 4.6's tank?

According to Advance Auto Parts the 3.8, 4.6 and 4V 4.6 all use the same pump.

Motorcraft: Part No. PFS191 $332.99
Master Electric Part No. E2244M $224.44

Cool, thanks for the reference.

I noticed most parts places list them as one part only, but maybe that's just done that way because of availability?

Does anyone have a technical Ford manual that shows the parts being the same from factory?

Thanks

To be perfectly honest I have no idea if they should be the same, but I'm sure someone here knows. I'd make sure before you buy anything, although I've bought from Advance, I can't vouch for them.

Exactly, it doesnt fit in my head as to how they can possibly be the same, since a 3.8, a 4.6 and a 4x 4.6 all require different line pressures...

hopefully someone can chime in.

Well they could still use the same pump, but different pressure regulators.

They all use the same pump and fuel pump driver module. The fpdm regulates the voltage so it pumps the right pressure. I hope you can get one for cheeper then those prices above. Thats hella expensive. If not get a svt focus pump or find one on ebay. Or find someone with a blower who has their old one sitting around.
