i just got my first stang whick is an 03 gt and i was looking up some 1/4 miles specs and i came across the following: 99 gt 14.1 in the 1/4th and the 03 only a 14.7 in the 1/4 is this true? and if so what caused the drop in time since we now have 260 hp instead of 225 hp plus we now have more torque.

the 99 has the same specs as the 03 although they have differnet transmissions, but i doubt that would cause that much of a difference. could be the altitude both cars were tested at, the drivers, etc. i'm more inclined to believe a 14.1 than a 14.7 for a PI GT though

i watched a stock 02 GT run a 15.1. It depends on the drivers and altitude, etc. etc. but a 99-04 GT stock CAN run a 13.9 to a 14.6 usually. (kind of guessing, someone correct me if im wrong)

the 03 should be faster by a few .10's you are just a better driver - the 03/04 has a higher compression and slightly reworked head, with the 3650 = both making that year model faster than the 99

ive noticed that the 99-00 and 01 w/ the T-45 run a bit faster than 3650 GTs. i think its the tranny ratios. we tach about 400 rpms more at a given speed, thus little bolt-ons like gears help a lot more. i ran a 13.72 @ 101 w/ 4.10s and an o/r X pipe.
