Hey guys and gals.... I'm the new guy and I recently bought a 99 2V with a 5 speed. It's got 68000 miles on it and the motor was replaced at 29000 by Ford under warranty. Other than that it is bone stock. If it sits for a week without being run the battery is dead. When I connect the cables to the battery there is quite a draw. Just wondering if there is a relay or something common that might cause this?

Any other tips of things I should know would be awesome.

How much of a draw? Do you have access to a multimeter and can hook it up in series and measure the draw in A when the vehicle is off?

If it's signigicant, you can start by pulling fuses out and trying to isolate the problem circuit.

Also, once a battery has been drained and jumped...it will never be the same and hold a charge as well, so it will drain easier the next time. Once you discover the source of the drain, replace the battery

I got a new battery and a week later it was low enough were it didnt start. I took the battery out and i got the battery to charge. I will try to pull fuses while i check the draw.

Thanks and hopefuly we will see what it is.
