Hey guys i just bought this 99 cobra that had been lightly rearended and the guy was driving it around the lot and it ran out of gas. I gased it back up and tried to start it and it hit every once it a while but never to much extent. The reset switch is fine and i hear the pump kick on to prime . What do you guys think i should check, the engine has a vortech supercharger and hooker LTs, with no exhaust yet but it ran great before the fuel ran out so any help would be appreciated thanks

u try to prime the fuel system a few times? turn the key off and on about 10 times. when u starve the engine for fuel, u might need to prime a little. turn the pump on for like 10 secs, turn it off and wait 10 secs. try it 10 times and maybe it will work.

see my thread going around called "inertia switch" =)

You probably have to open ur trunk, go to the driver side rear panel in the trunk, behind the tail lights. There is a tube with a red switch/button there. its the inertia switch. Move it up or down (not sure which) and i bet ur car starts right up again =)

Its a safety device for most Fords for accidents just like u encountered, so the fuel is cut off after the accident to prevent a fire.

Didn't I read something about s/c cars having to always keep at least a quarter tank of gas because of risk of fuel starvation which caused catastrophic engine failure? I think when you run out of gas with s/c you are screwed...
