I have a 98 V6 and have heard that the pre 99 mustangs have very restricted intakes. I was wandering if it was possible to buy the 99 and newer intake and put it on my 98?? and how much power would I get from it?
Grab an ebay cold air kit... and you will get a little bity increase, that seams to change from application to application... most i have ever seen was 30hp on an 03' Cobra (MM&FF) from the K&N aircharger... it doesnt use the hoses or anything, so its not street legal in some states but... hey 30 hp and .9 more PSI on a stock 03 cobra is awesome! lol

hes not talking about a cai hes talking about an intake!!! btw yes you can put the intake on but you also need 99+ heads as well. im sure there are other misc things you need for the split port swap but im not all to familiar since i already have the split port! check over at v6power.net and 3.8mustang.com there are alot of very knowledgable people who have done the swap and can tell you exactly what you need and what type of gains you can expect!! good luck
Depends on if he's talkin about the heads or the upper/lower manifolds or the intake tubing itself (before throttle body).
If it's 1/2, then you need to get both new heads and a new upper and lower manifold. If it's 3, then I don't see why it wouldn't work, throttle body is an easy part to get things to fit onto.
